New Jamaican food joint under consruction in North Central

The product of Albany resident Vincent Douglas, a new Jamaican restaurant is under construction inside 3301 Sixth Ave., a three-story building at the northwestern corner of Sixth Avenue and Glen Ave.

The building is directly across from the Olde Judge Mansion, a local bed and breakfast. According to Tina Urzan, the owner of the bed and breakfast, Douglas is transforming the bottom floor into restaurant space and the top two floors into apartments. Douglas is a former chef at Kenneth's Tastebud in Albany.

I stopeed down on Thursday to meet the Douglas, but he was out on errands. One of the men working on the project informed me that he plans to open sometime next month.
