Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute will be hosting Rory Sutherland, the vice-chairman of Ogilvy Group UK, at the 25th anniversary of the Institute's Lighting Research Center on March 20.
Sutherland's keynote address and a following panel presentation, dubbed the "Lighting Value Forum," will focus on the value of lighting and the concept that society undervalues light.
The English-born Sutherland began his career as a teacher at a grammar school in Aylesbury, UK. In 1988 he joined the planning department of advertising and marketing agency Ogilvy & Mather Direct, was subsequently fired, and then joined the agency's creative department as a junior copywriter. In 1996, he was subsequently promoted to lead copy editor and in 1997 was named creative director. In 2002, he was again promoted, this time to executive creative director, followed by a promotion to vice-chairman of the Ogilvy Group UK, his current position.
Tickets for the event are $300 for the general public and $75 for LRC alumni. They can be purchased HERE
